Demokratie ist, was die Chefin will? Einblicke in die innerparteiliche Willensbildung der sächsischen AfD
Der sächsische Landesverband der Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) hat im Vorfeld der Landtagswahl 2014 gravierend gegen das verfassungsrechtliche Gebot innerparteilicher Demokratie verstoßen. Muss deswegen die ganze Landtagswahl wiederholt werden? Das wäre wohl unverhältnismäßig. In the run-up to the constitutional referendum in October, the Italian government meets considerable resistance towards its plans for a comprehensive reform of the Constitution of 1948. Both Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Constitutional Reform Minister Maria Elena Boschi regularly sustain that in case of a ‘No’ vote, chaos will rule. Public debate seems trapped in a Manichean game between yes-proponents that accuse the opposition of conservatism, and no-proponents that accuse the government of authoritarian leanings. The ‘Brexit’ Referendum: We Need to Talk about the (General Election) Franchise
The franchise for the ,Brexit' referendum will mostly follow eligibility for voting in a UK general election. This invites serious reflection on the anomalies of the current general election franchise in the UK: Citizens living abroad are not allowed to vote, and neither are EU citizens from other countries – unless they are Irish, Cypriots or Maltese who are enfranchised as citizens of member states of the Commonwealth.
